Birthday Celebrations
The boys certainly celebrated #4 and #2 to the fullest! Between their parties with the Smith Fam, Robertson Fam, Friends, at school and then their actual birthdays - there has been a significant intake of cake and ice cream over the past few weeks! We went to the Zoo on both of their actual birthday's which was fun! Here are a bunch of pictures and some updates on the boys:
Sammy
- Finishing up his first year of pre-school; only a couple of weeks left. He has loved it. We've tried explaining that he gets a summer break which he doesn't quite understand or like. Keeps saying he wants to go to school. His teachers Ms. Maria and Ms. Debbie are awesome - they have given him a lot of praise and said he is one of the most talkative/interactive kids in class.
- Loves playing outside with his neighbor friends
- Loves his leap pad, any phone with games, Lili's "candle" (Kindle) and any electronic device. We have to really limit him because he wants to play so much
- Loves board games - Chutes & Ladders is his favorite right now
- Still loves trains
- Favorite shows right now are probably Paw Patrol, Team Umi Zoomi and Bubble Guppies
- Starting to use the computer; likes abcmouse.com
- Likes going to the library; really likes any book
- Still loves his pancakes, ramen noodles and chicky, french fries, honey mustard and ketchup, but is really starting to try/eat a bigger variety (ate fish tonight!)
- He really likes to be clean - ALWAYS wants a napkin at the start of ever meal. He was helping me plant flowers the other day but he stopped pretty quick because he didn't want to get his hands dirty. We're going to have to work on that! Told him boys are supposed to get dirty! =-)
- His favorite stuffed animal is Ruffus; followed by Stewey and Baby Freckles
- Favorite color is orange (most days)
- He's a great big brother (for the most part). Yes -he definitely still tries to take things from Ben when he's playing with them, but overall he is very affectionate and sweet to Ben. Keeps saying, "Ben, say Sam, you can do it".
- Sammy is still a big snuggler, says "I love you" and gives lots of hugs.
Ben
- Loves trains; his first go-to toy every morning is his little track upstairs.
- Starting to get into books more and more; especially if they are about trains; his favorite right now is probably The Little Engine that Could - he wants to read it every night. Also really into his Disney "Planes" board books
- Loves his tools; he got a little work bench and he likes to pretend he's fixing things
- His favorite stuffed animal is Barney; followed by Pluto. One thing that gets him cracking up is when I hide Barney and have him pop up different places - he just laughs and laughs
- Loves Mickey and the Disney gang
- Loves pancakes, muffins, pizza, PB&J and chicky. Pretty picky eater right now!
- Loves music and likes to dance/bop his head
- Loves playing outside - loves jumping in the new trampoline and swinging
- We still call Ben our Big Snug/Big Snuggie Bear. Sam likes to call him that too.
- He is still sleeping in his crib, but we're going to try and move him into a big boy bed in the next couple of months
- Loves to do animal sounds; not really trying to talk yet. We keep thinking any day now he's going to start busting out sentences!
- We're still working on turning him into a full-fledged snuggler. He likes to sometimes, but a lot of time Mom has to force hugs and kisses against his will. =-) He still likes to blow kisses.
- Ben has this hilarious "mad" face he makes when he doesn't get his way or doesn't want to do something. It's so hard not to crack up when he makes it. He'll shut his eyes, make this awful face and slowly walk across the room - it's so funny!
I know I'm missing a lot of things, but these are some on my mind right now. Oh - and their favorite song is "I like to Move it, Move it". They both love dancing to it! They have both been doing swim lessons - really like the water. They also love having movie/popcorn nights!
Happy Birthday to our boys - you are the best and we love you so much!

April
Here are a bunch of cute pictures from our early April Easter/Birthday celebration with the Smith fam. Kids had a great time coloring eggs, doing an egg hunt and eating birthday cake. Love the pic of Ben and Em - a definite keeper to laugh at when they get older! The picture with the tulips in the background was taken at the Zoo - our first trip of the year! The next picture is the boys with their neighborhood friends Sydney and Hudson. Easter Sunday was beautiful! In the morning we went to Cousin Charlie's house - boys looked so cute in their Easter outfits that GG got them. Sunday evening we spent at Nana and Pappaw's house! Looking forward to this weekend and their party with the Robertson fam. Almost 4 and 2 - holy cow!

March
Dad had the best idea ever when he thought to put up the bounce house in the basement! Barely fits, but has been great since the weather still hasn't been cooperating. It's officially Spring and we are ready to get outside more. Sam and I took a fun trip to Atlanta with Grammie and GG last week. Had a bunch of fun spending time with the Borgerding fam. Sam got to drive the plane after we landed - he was so excited. Did great on his first flight - kept saying "That was awesome Mom and I was brave and not even scared". Yes - Ben is walking in my high heels in the picture below. He loves to put on other people's shoes. And it's kind of scary how well he walks in them; probably better than me. Snuggie is starting to say a few more things. He likes to make animal noises - moo, quack, bark..and he likes to contemplate his meal choices. Any time you ask him if he wants something he says, "Uuuummmmm" like he's seriously thinking about it.=-)

January
It was a cold and snowy January - we've been playing a lot of race and chase, building tents, playing trains and playing with Christmas presents! We also started making trips to the library which Sammy really likes to do. Ben loves books but is not quite ready for the library yet - we go in and he gets so excited seeing all of the books that he just starts yelling! Joe had fun watching the Superbowl with the boys last night (well - they kind of watched it). Sammy kept yelling - "come on orange guys - you can do it... oh man". Our big Snuggie Bear had his hernia surgery today - so glad it is over! He is doing great - he was so brave! I know he'll be back to his wild self in a few days, but for now I'm honestly just loving the fact that he wants to be held and snuggled. And I had to give our eldest two boys some love...Bunk and Jax said they wanted to pose for a cute picture so they could make the blog for a change!
