Rub-a-dub-dub, two boys in the tub

We realized Ben was ready for the big tub (well the little tub within the big tub) when we started feeling like we were at Sea World at the Shamu show when we gave Ben a bath in the kitchen. Ben is 3 months old now! He can turn himself over from his belly to his back, but hasn't quite figured out back to belly yet. We put him in his jumper for the first time today and he loved it. Can't really jump quite yet because his toes barely touch the ground, but he liked it when we bounced him. Sammy is a talking machine - has started asking "why" to everything/everyone. He amazes us everyday by saying something new. Some of you that will read this have probably already heard this story, but Sammy now says "oh crap" because he heard Mommy say it. Yes, Mommy. I thought Daddy would slip and say something inappropriate first, but no, it was me. It's so hard not to laugh when he says it! And now he understands he's not supposed to say it, so he whispers it or makes the words with his mouth. SCARY!!! We continue to have a really fun summer - trips to Kings Island, Waterpark and Zoo, had a cookout and took Bunk and Jax swimming for the first time, went to Dayton Dragons game and new cousin Emie arrived on August 1st!

Here are some cute new pics. I swear I didn't pose Sammy like that in the sunglasses - it was all his doing. Ben has a snuggle buddy - Jax. He really seems to favor Ben over Sammy, especially now since Sammy is in a phase where he likes to grab the dogs tails, hit them and grab their snouts. Sammy went to his first Reds game last weekend - made it to the 7th inning and was even given a batting practice ball!  He was mostly interested in Grant (his hilarious cousin who came into town from St. Louis), seeing fireworks when someone hit a home run and the food of course. Let's be honest - that was my favorite part too. Getting some Dippin Dots is usually the highlight of a baseball game for me!

Summer Fun

We've had an awesome summer so far! Sammy has had a blast in his kiddie pool. He either wants to be in his pool or playing with his choo choo train table. Ben turned 2 months old today! He's doing really good - such a sweet baby! He's starting to smile which is adorable! Sammy has been working on potty training and is doing really well! We had a rough start, but after just a few days he really started picking up on it.  I think he is getting super annoyed at us because we ask him if he has to go to the bathroom about 100 times a day.  I never knew how happy seeing wee wee and poo poo in the potty could make me! Here are some updated pics of the boys!

Ben's First Month

  

Ben has already seen and done quite a bit in his first month! (Technically, he has slept through most activities) =-). He's made his debut at The Cone, Museum, Kings Island, Shaker Run, Putters, numerous parks, etc etc. He's already up to 11 lbs 1oz and 23 inches long. Here are a bunch of pictures of him and Sammy from the last couple of weeks! Oh - and that first picture we might consider his first smile, but I'm pretty sure it was just gas so it probably doesn't count!

Benjamin Smitty Robertson was born May 8th, 2012 at 7:39am. He was 8lbs and 3oz; 21 inches long. He is just beautiful! Came out with a bunch of dark hair on his head and looks just like Daddy! We are so thankful he is healthy and doing awesome! Sammy is being a great big brother - likes to push him in his swing, help feed him and do the "grasshopper" with him. He even let Ben sit on his lap for the first time today! We love Little Ben Ben (as I call him) so much and our family feels complete now that he's here!

2 Years Old

Sammers is officially 2 years old - turned 2 on April 27th! Can't believe our little bubba is 2 already. Here are some recent pictures and here is what he is up to:
- Trying to talk a lot more and says 2-3 word phrases "Sammy's turn", "Daddy's home", "Bunk and Jax", etc
- Loves all books again - not picky like he was a few months ago
- Starting to identify colors and shapes
- Favorite show - Little Einsteins; prefers it over Mickey!
- Likes to give bear hugs where he'll wrap his arms around your neck
- Favorite foods - definitely still pancakes, bops (grapes), mac n cheese and purple gatorade
- Anytime he bumps any part of his body on something he gets this pitiful look on his face and says "Mama kiss" and he wants me to kiss his boo boo to make it better
- Loves to go outside and swing or mow the grass alongside Daddy (with his bubble mower)
- Will tell you his little brother's name is going to be Ben
- Will tell you he's "2"
- Likes to identify his body parts
- Loves to play chase, but only if Bunk and Jax are participating
- Still loves to shoot hoops and I know I am bias, but he has surprisingly good form!
He is such a sweet little boy! He's going to be an awesome big brother. Ben is on his way (well will be tonight and in our arms tomorrow, May 8th). It's hard to believe we are going to have two little angels!
